Mentadent Advanced Whitening Fluoride Toothpaste with Baking Soda and Peroxide, Refreshing Mint, 3.

I used to purchase the 12-pack of Mentadent in Sam's Club however they don't carry it anymore.Neither does any of the major retailer chains like Walmart or Target, not even the single dispensers. So once again, I typed this in the search here and voila, I'm back in business! Thanks Amazon! I will add this to my automatic replenishment! This is the third item I've found on Amazon that is no available anywhere else! You guys rule!!!

PS: Just in case, get the 6-pack with the dispensers and save them, then if they become unavailable, you can at least order the refills! Great product and the pump dispenser is great, no more "squeeze in the middle" tubes!

I've never really found a great deal of difference in toothpastes in terms of taste or performance (except the weird kids' flavors like watermelon, bubblegum, etc.)

The thing that brought me to and has kept me loyal to Mentadent is the delivery system's one-handed operation. You just push down on the top to dispense. I know some other companies now offer push button dispensers, but I've found I needed to pick those up to use. Not the end of the world, I know, but worth noting.

Also, I forget if you can or need to recap them, but if so, I believe you have to replace the cap to do so. Mentadent dispensers have an hinged, attached cap, although we don't find any negative effects from just leaving it flipped up.

According to my research, at $19.30 (Subscribe and Save) for a pack of 6, I got a pretty good deal. My husband threw away the bottom half of the dispenser, so I couldn't just buy the refills (which I unknowingly did last time--if you're a first time buyer, be sure to buy a full version.)It seems that my local stores have stopped carrying Mentadent, so I hope I can continue to get it from Amazon.

The only negative: A lot of plastic. Not sure if regular toothpaste tubes are any better, but Mentadent probably isn't a green choice. I reuse, repair, recycle and compost in many cases, so I don't feel too bad about my Mentadent habit.

I've never had luck with crest or colgate, they leave my mouth dry and don't help whiten my teeth any. I tried mentadent, and was shocked at how great it made my mouth feel and how fast/thoroughly it removed stains.

Colgate Optic White Enamel White Toothpaste, Luminous Mint, 4.0 Ounce

I have been using Colgate Optic White toothpaste for the last few years.It is by far my favorite, with excellent cleaning and whitening results and which does not contain odd chemicals which dissolve my mouth (typically those anti-bacterial/gingivitis chemicals).

Originally released in Sparkling Mint, Optic White had a very powerful mint taste.Refreshing, but sometimes too minty to the point of almost burning your mouth, especially if you did something silly like accidentally bit your mouth.Since then, they came out with Cool Mild Mint.I have been using that for the past year or so.I like that better as it is not as strong.

I, recently, have been using the new Enamel Luminous Mint.That is the mildest of all three versions, but is still minty enough IMO.That is now my first choice in toothpaste.

I also use Sonicare toothbrushes and try to really take good care of my teeth.In dental care, I solidly believe that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.This toothpaste, Sonicare, and Crest 3D White rinse (along with flossing) are my twice-daily regimen.

I have tried using similar products for years and gave up because they were too harsh in my mouth. I recently got the Optic White toothpaste as a free trial from Influensterand I have not had any issues and I am already seeing an improvement

I have been using this for about 2 weeks now.I did notice some sensitivity with this regimen which made me use it every other day.So that is my warning for this product.If you have sensitive teeth you may want to try it and then back offlike I did.It really won't mess up your results.The Colgate Regimen states that it will give you whiter teeth in 5 days.I am sure my teeth may be slightly whiter but there is no dramatic difference as of yet.I love the tooth brush and the tooth paste.Nice minty flavor and lots of foaming action.The mouth wash reminds me of the whitening strips.It tastes like one of them.But it is not horrible and is totally tolerable.

I have tried so manyother tooth paste, I have found that Colgate Optic White works the best for myself. When using the tooth paste and mouth wash you get the best results. The wash foams in your mouth leaving your HOLE mouth fresh and clean.

I used this toothpaste for about two weeks before I gave it to my daughter. I have very sensitive teeth and couldn't take the hot/cold change very well. It did start to whiten my teeth and the taste wasn't that bad,also a pea size amount does the trick.

Instead of wasting the tube,I have it to my health conscious daughter. She has called and begged me to send her another tube when she started to run out. She loves this paste and since she can read all the ingredients & there is no fluoride that's even better. It is a little pricey for toothpaste,but you get what you pay for and if you shop around you can find it a little cheaper.

If you are a fanatic about chemicals you probably wont mind this. It is a little too chalky for me. So far I cannot tell if it really is whitening.

Have you ever noticed the variety of available toothpastes? It's overwhelming! There are numerous different brands. Some contain peroxide, others baking soda, others abrasives and other exotic potions. It's a wonder some don't come with Sani-Flush as an ingredient. Then all brands seem to have small, medium, large and extra-large sizes. Did I mention travel size and trial size? What's a guy to do?

For years, I just bought one of the half-dozen brands on sale at the local food or drug store. Then, as the toothpaste wars escalated, I bought with freely-dispensed coupons and some supermarkets doubled the value of the coupons. It became such a good deal that some toothpaste was actually free. Well, my coupon days are over and I now shop at a warehouse club store where they have a limited selection but outstanding values. I asked my dentist for advice on the best toothpaste since I was totally confused by all the claims. He suggested that "Colgate Total Whitening Gel" was the best for my particular circumstances (which, by the way, wasn't the brand in the free packet of things I received with cleaning). I also noted that this particular brand/variety was highly rated by Consumer's Reports. It supposedly helped to prevent cavities with fluoride and resisted plaque and tartar buildup, which could lead to gingivitis, all while whitening the teeth. What more could I ask for? I bought a four-pack of tubes (7.8 ounces each). I've been very pleased with the toothpaste and the price was right. Only long-term usage will tell but I'm totally satisfied at this point.

Next, I consider whether it will be neat to use.It is.Sometimes when I buy those new hard plastic containers, they actually get messy.Also I cannot get all the toothpaste out. It is easy to get the paste out of Colgate Total Whitening Paste without spraying it all over the cabinet.

If it does not taste good, I won't use it.Some toothpaste burns my mouth so bad that brushing my teeth is a painful experience.This one doesn't burn.It tastes simply the way toothpaste is supposed to taste.

Whitening is important.This one is supposed ot whiten.After spending money to whiten my teeth, I need a product to help ward off the bad effects of coffee and tea.

Avoiding all kinds of oral pathology is a major consideration.This toothpaste claims that it can help fight cavities, gingivitis, plaque, tartar, and bad breath.

I hope this product stays on the market a long time and does not change.

I bought the 6-pack of 7.8oz, just for me, over 8 months ago, and 2 tubes still remaining at rate of 3 brushes daily. Really worth it if you buy small tubes frequently. I say this is the best toothpaste because is gel, I can feel it cleans better than the regular paste, then is of the Total 12 hour protection line, its flavor is amazing, really cool and with its whitening ingredients help to keep your teeth on its natural color, THIS IS NOT A WHITENING TREATMENT, so don't expect an outstanding change. And of course, I'll buy it again.

I have been an avid Crest user for most of my life, for no particular reason except for the fact that Crest was what we had in the house. I went to the dentist about a month ago and they recommended Crest Total because it contains Triclosan which helps with gum health. I went right to the store and started using it, after 2 days I had 5 canker sores! My fiance also used it and the same thing happened to him, multiple canker sores within a couple days of use. I stopped using Colgate and switched back to Crest. The canker sores went away almost immediately with no other treatment.

I now know why that is what we always had in my house! I did some research and it turns out that one of the ingredients in Colgate Total is Sodium Lauryl Sulfate which has been shown to cause canker sores. So if you are having trouble with canker sores look at the ingredient label of your standard toothpaste and if it contains SLS, switch for a few days and see what happens!

Learned my lesson and will never buy Colgate again!!
