It's not supposed to STAY in your mouth, you are supposed to use it BEFORE you brush, as opposed to the usual way you use Listerine (AFTER you brush).So I'm wondering if all these comments about burning mouth, etc., were because they didn't use it properly.I'm very happy with it, been using it a year, no problems, teeth are whier.

Let me start off by saying: I've never had it burn my mouth, I've never had it make my mouth peel, and I've never had it cause any swelling. It does have alcohol in it (8% according to the label on the one i have now) but the whitening comes from the hydrogen peroxide. (I'm curious to know how someones mouth burns with the stuff)You rinse your mouth out with it BEFORE you brush and it seems to work for me.
If you are afraid of the burning and such you can always try the old fashioned way of mixing baking soda with hydrogen peroxide into a pasty consistency and brush with that (its cheaper and to the best of my knowledge won't make your teeth sensitive)
