Crest 3D White Professional Effects Plus 2 Hour Express Whitening Treatment, 22 Count

Crest 3D White Professional Effects Plus 2 Hour Express Whitening Treatment, 22 Count ()The very first time I used these strips, I saw a noticeable difference in the whiteness of my teeth after the 30 minute treatment. That said, I'll back up a bit, and explain what you get in the kit, and how to use it.

The kit contains 20 days worth of upper and lower whitening strips, which are to be used for 30 minutes at a time.

It also contains 2-2 hour whitening strip treatments, which you can use for the recommended 2 hours, or customize with less time.

The strips themselves are easy to use. (Do NOT brush your teeth before the treatment.) You just peel them off their backing, apply to your upper and lower teeth, wait 30 minutes and remove them. They have the benefit of a super strong grip, that keeps them attached to your teeth securely during treatment time. (I've tried some other brands, CVS, for example, that kept peeling off--useless!) They can be a little tricky to remove because of this grip. Don't panic, just remove them from the back part of your teeth first, and then they should peel off more easily.

As I said above, there was noticeable whitening after just one treatment. Because of this, and because I was aware that this type of product can cause tooth/gum sensitivity, I waited a couple of nights before the second treatment. I had no problem with sensitivity, and because I was pleased with the amount of whitening, I've decided to wait a week or so before continuing the treatments.

The instructions say it is fine to customize your use in that way.For example, you can do a couple of treatments for 30 minutes and then do a 5 minute treatment (on a different day) for a "touch up".

The kit is expensive, but far less so than what you'd pay a dentist for these results. Be aware of the possibility of sensitivity, use a little caution in how often you treat, and I think you'll love what you see in the mirror.

()While these are a huge improvement over white strips I tried in the past (mostly due to how well they adhere to the teeth these adhere beautifully!), they didn't whiten my teeth as well as I'd expected.I just recently developed a slight staining on my front 2 lower teeth probably thanks to my love for black tea. After the first use of the 3D Whitestripe I immediately noticed the stain was faded a good amount. The next day I applied a second strip & again noticed the same great results. However after completing the entire box, the stain is still there although it is minimal. I didn't get the same good results with the remaining applications as I had with the first two.On top of that these made my teeth crazy sensitive. At first I was able to use the strips once a day.Than I could go 2 days on 1 day off. Then I had to go down to every other day until I went 2 days off, 1 day on.My teeth became so sensitive that the pain would last the entire day.

I would definitely use them again, but not in the same way using the whole box in one shot because I feel it is a waste.I would go for about 2 3 whitening sessions as needed. If it is done this way, one box will probably cover a years worth of mini treatments, it will hurt less & be just as effective as using the full months treatment in one shot.

()I drink tea every day, so I find that after a year or so, my teeth start to lose a bit of their whiteness. Using one of the Crest 3D products brings back some of the bright. This was my first time using the 2 hour Express version first, and I found it worked really well to give my teeth a noticeable boost in whiteness in just a few days without causing the tooth pain I've experienced with some of the other more intense versions of this product.

For regular whitening, I like the normal 30 minute strips the best. They work well with my lifestyle and don't cause tooth pain.

I've never had what I consider "dazzling" results with any of these kits, but they do seem to remove stains and brighten up my smile to the point that I see the difference.

()I've reviewed Crest White Strips before so in this review I'm going to compare my results to a session of 'zoom' whitening that I previously underwent.

In terms of the cost, if you can find a good deal, zoom whitening (or another laser whitening session) can cost you as little as $99, while Crest White Strips vary in price from around $25 to $50.

The process itself: zoom whitening had me stuck in a dentist's chair for 45 minutes unable to do anything. The strips, however, let me go about my day as usual with the only stipulation being that I don't eat or drink during the process.

With zoom whitening I was exposed to pain I never experienced previously.Second bursts of intense, concentrated pain in various teeth (repeated at least a dozen times), while with Crest strips at worst I had some sensitivity issues that were never more than a minor bother.

In terms of results, I can honestly say I saw better results using Crest White Strips than I did with the zoom whitening procedure. I'm sure that's a biased and subjective statement, but it's one that in the future will have me buying/using white strips once or twice a year rather than going to the dentist for future whitening sessions which cost more, are painful, and provide results I'm not absolutely satisfied with.

()I've been using Crest white strips for over ten years now, and I've almost always been happy with the results. These are no exception I kickstarted myself with a two-hour strip, and I really did see results after that one treatment.I have used the Professional Effects before, as well as the 2-Hour Express strips (and this package is just the two of those combined into one box).I wasn't very happy with the 2-Hour express strips by themselves, but they seem to be a great way to kickstart the other strips.I hadn't thought about that until this product came out.

I get tooth sensitivity like a number of other people, so I tend to use the strips every other day versus every day.I'll feel discomfort after two 30-minute strips if I use them two days in a row, so I was nervous that a two-hour strip would result in a festival of pain...but it didn't.I was shocked, but it didn't hurt at all, even the next day.A very pleasant surprise!

For comparison, I also have custom trays from my dentist that allow me to use their 15-minute whitening gel.To me, these white strips work as well as the gel, but they take twice as long to wear each day.The gel doesn't tend to make my teeth sensitive, which is a big plus.On the flip side, wearing the strips is more comfortable to me, and I don't feel self-conscious wearing them outside to walk the dog or drive to work as opposed to the trays.

The Professional Effects version is my favorite because these strips have two things that I look for (and so do the 2-Hour strips):

(1) Advanced Seal.If you haven't used white strips for several years, this is a BIG improvement. The original ones would tend to slip or slide around, making it tough to keep them in place. The Advanced Seal has been out for years now, and I have never once had one move on me.It's great.

(2) Larger size. Some of the versions still use strips that are about the same size as the originals, which I always considered to be too small.I don't have a large mouth, but the smaller strips only cover the very front teeth. These strips reach further around, increasing the probability that you'll whiten all or most of the teeth that people will see. They most likely will not reach your molars, though.

Crest will sometimes put out new packages with the same strips, and the price will be higher than the equivalent product in the stores because it's "new."Just watch for that. The prices will usually drop pretty fast because everyone will realize they can buy the same stuff for less, but don't get caught because you think it's a new product. As of this review, you can get the Professional Effects 20-count and the Two Hour 2-count for about the same total price, so it's a decent price.

I recommend these. My advice always go for the Advanced Seal, get the larger-sized strips, and look for the best overall price.
