I have used the originalDr Ken's toothpaste for over a year. Which I thought was the best because for the first time in years I stopped getting canker sores or better know as mouth ulcers. I was so happy and bought a bunch of Dr Ken's toothpaste, enough to last me about a year. Fast forward toAugust 2012, I ordered more toothpaste, after about a weeks worth of use I started receiving canker sores again... I started doing research on the ingredients ofDr Ken's "all natural" toothpaste. It is indeed all natural. However, Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate was added, to the formula and listed as a mineral. Do some research, this is the foaming agent which fools the brain into thinking it is doing a better cleaning job.
I found this on the internet:
"The thought is that Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate may, in susceptible individuals, cause microscopic trauma or membrane disruption to the skin cells in the mouth. This along with trauma or actions of the immune system may lead to canker sore formation."
Unfortunately, I need to find a new toothpaste... Yes I'm disappointed and will not be buying anymore of this toothpaste.
I've used every type of new Crest, Colgate, Listerine, Rembrandt, Breath RX, etc kind of toothpaste out there. I keep switching them to try the next "best" one.
This is the first time I stopped looking for the "next" best one and instead ordered this 4 pack. This stuff tastes great and works. You get that squeaky clean feeling on your teeth, your breath smells fresh and it seems to last! It also provides a very calm and "healthy" feeling to your gums and teeth for hours to come. It also seems to balance the acid in your mouth so couple hours later, you don't have that funny taste in your mouth.
Well worth it.. haven't tried any other flavor yet, I bet that's just as good. I really like this Wintergreen one... has a hint of cinnamon.I bought this based on all the great reviews here.I wanted it to be an alternative to Tom's.I liked the idea of a Wintergreen flavor (my favorite mint flavor), but was disappointed.Plus, the price is really steep compared to Tom's.I felt like my teeth weren't getting as clean with this toothpaste. My mouth definitely didn't feel as fresh and I can't stand the Stevia sweetener. Some people may not mind the Stevia, but I hate it and it's anything but "natural" if you read up on it.It may come from a plant and all, but that doesn't mean it's good for you.Not saying Sorbitol is any better, but taste for taste, I'll stick with the Sorbitol or whatever Tom's sweetens theirs with.Great stuff, all natural. Our teeth and mouths are clean and healthy without chemicals and the toothpaste has a nice flavor, can't ask for more. Highly recommend.
