Some people say I'm weird for this, but I hate mint.I do not like mint at all (unless it is in a glass with rum and lime juice!)I have tried children's fruit-flavored toothpastes, but they were all too sweet.I Love the flavor of this toothpaste.I do not find it to be all that sweet, and the lemon-y flavor is refreshing. The fact that the flavor does not stay in your mouth, contaminating the flavors of anything you eat or drink for the next hour is a plus in my book!LOVE IT!

My son detests mint-flavored toothpastes. When he was younger, he was content to use all the nauseating alternatives:bubble gum, fruit punch, etc.But around the age of ten, he found the child-flavors just as repulsive as mint. We tried Colgate's medicinal orange-flavored toothpaste and Tom of Maine's licorice flavored toothpaste, but he didn't care for these either.I can't say I blamed him:the former tastes disgusting and the latter feels like you're brushing your teeth with slightly gritty candy.I then happened upon Go Smile's Lemonade, which he loves. It's a nice, almost tart taste--lemony, not sugary and not chemical-tasting--with a smooth texture. Unscientifically, I will add that his tube of Go Smile lasts about twice as long as my tubes of Rembrandt and given the circumstantial evidence (the gobs of toothpaste in the sink after he brushes his teeth) I don't think I use more toothpaste than he, so maybe it isn't as expensive as it appears.

I think that pretty much sums it up. I have been adventurous in the way of toothpaste brand experimentation, but the bottom line is that the glory of minty freshness that accompanies any normal toothbrushing experience is not to be had with this paste. I bought it because I couldn't choose between the GoSmile AM and PM formulas (neither of which I will be trying at this point), and I saw that the proceeds would benefit research for autism. That might be the only good thing about it. That and the fact that because I never feel like my mouth is clean after I brush with what could easily be mistaken as icing (again, not in a good way), I have been flossing and using mouthwash regularly for the first time in, well, a while. If you're going to spend more than ten bucks on a tube of toothpaste, try one of the Marvis formulas (they have a new whitening paste that runs about $12). Or just go to Trader Joe's and buy their brand. It's like $2 and gets the job done mintily well.
