Philips Sonicare HX6733/70 HealthyWhite 3 Mode Premium Edition Rechargeable Toothbrush 2 Sets (2 ha

Philips Sonicare HX6733/70 HealthyWhite 3 Mode Premium Edition Rechargeable Toothbrush 2 SetsA few years ago in my quest to find an electric toothbrush per my dentist's instructions led me to stand in front of the products meticulously comparing one vs. another, did it do this that and the other, price point, etc. Oral B won for 1 reason, price and I had a coupon at Costco and their replacement heads were cheaper. That was a few years ago. I was under the impression that all electric toothbrushes were created equally. Although my teeth's health improved, there are still issues. My last cleaning was very intense at the dentist.

My Oral B is almost dead it's been 2 years, the battery will hold for a couple of days, but not over a week like it used to. The search for the next toothbrush started.

Surprisingly, I didn't have a hard choice with picking Sonicare. I see the demo/advertising whatever at my dentist. I also knew I wasn't happy with OralB because my teeth didn't feel clean, and I knew that it was definitely not getting into all the contours of my mouth.

My first use with my Sonicare

I felt like a light bulb exploded in my head. It was ridiculous how clean my teeth felt, as if I just had them cleaned and polished at my dentist. How is that possible with only 1 session? Was my Oral B that bad? Maybe this was a fluke. A few more days went by, my teeth stayed with that smooth clean feeling. It's been a few weeks and I'm hooked.

What's so different about it the brush head for one. Oral B has a circular head, it spins with use. With the Sonicare, it oscillates back and forth, mimicking real tooth brushing motion. There are contours of the brush so it gets between the teeth. The bristles are stiff to clean my teeth but gentle enough to get into the gums w/o causing bleeding. Oral B brush heads were rough and painful.

This product is great for small mouths, hard to reach areas/crevices and for sensitive teeth.

I like that it has options for sensitive and regular or whitening. I like that it's timed so I know I'm doing the right amount. The toothbrush will shut itself off after 2 minutes. It'll be good for kids too, so they're not doing a swipe and say they're done.

I'm very impressed with this product, very glad I got it and can't wait until my next dentist appointment. I've had it for a few weeks and notice not only are my teeth cleaner, but they are truly whiter.

UPDATE:

I've had it for a few months went for my cleaning and my dental hygienist noticed my teeth/gums were improving. She asked me what I did differently and told her I switched toothbrushes. HA!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE my toothbrush!

UPDATE 10/6/2010:

Went for my cleaning yesterday OMG! Can we say miracle? The dental hygienist was super happy to see my gums are getting healthier, when they do the measurements I've been getting mostly 4's (1's are ideal, 5's are no good), but this time, they were at mostly 2's with a couple of 3's!! My gums/teeth and mouth are overall getting better with each visit. My dentist is happy with my progress so am I!! the least amount of dental work, the happier I'll be.

I've written multiple Amazon reviews for Sonicare toothbrushes that I've purchased (been a user for almost 20 years) and I've had nothing but good results and solid service from Phillips.

My only caution is to check the price before purchasing. You can do better than the $169 price currently listed.

We (our family of six) have had sonicare tooth brushes for over the past 5 years. My husband and I usually buy the new model for us and give our four boys the old one with a new tooth brush head. What I especially love about this new model is that you can sanitize it.Also even if you don't get the sanitizer it will not get as dicustingly gunky like the old ones. The old ones have places for bacteria to hide up inside the tooth brush head. This new model does not!I am usually the one cleaning the tooth brushes and it can be gross when you turn the old tooth brushes upside down & run hot water in them. All kinds of snot comes out! Also my dentist always recommends sonicare. We hope to buy four more new tooth brushes for our four boys when we can afford it!

I never gave much thought to owning a toothbrush that cost more than $7.I'd always used manual brushes until about 10 years ago when a cousin recommended a Crest SpinBrush Pro, Soft Bristles (Colors May Vary).I remember the difference being night and day from the manual to the mechanical; my teeth felt twice as clean as they ever had.Well, if the SpinBrush made my teeth feel twice as clean, the Sonicare makes them feel almost brand new.

As stated above, normally I'm not spending more than $7, thus it would take some extraordinary circumstances.Well, while on vacation and staying at my mother-in-law's place (you read that correctly, a vacation and staying at the in-laws while they were there! They're awesome people!I'm lucky that way.), my mother in law informed us about the Philips Sonicare Essence Power Toothbrush that she purchased. She raved about it but I'd heard plenty of people (dentists included) rave about various pricey products that I made do without. Then she let us use her travel set with our own brand new heads (Obviously!).Well, folks, the proof is in the pudding or brushing, I should say.10 minutes after I'd brushed that first time I was on Amazon here looking up prices! It was/is the most amazing feeling when you finish brushing with these Sonicares. My teeth felt like they do when I leave the dentist after a cleaning! And that's how they feel every day now!For a month straight my teeth have felt continually cleaner and have been getting whiter!I love this thing and will never be without a Sonicare!

Concerns & Why I ordered the Healthy White version over the Essence:

I'm environmentally conscious. Thus the size of the replacement heads for the Essence seemed like a waste to me.There was way too much plastic in the heads that I didn't feel good about. The heads for the newer models (Healthy White included) are significantly smaller; see also planet friendlier.

My other concern was/is the gap between the head and the actual handle of the brush.Yes, there is a gap where things (bacteria etc) may "grow".This system comes with a built in UV Sanitizer that takes only minutes.I honestly don't know how long it takes (except to say that it's under 10 minutes) because I simply start it when I'm done and it's ready for the next time.

The Advanced Features were the other reasons I ordered this version. This product, in whitening mode, gives you Four 30-second intervals and at the end of the fourth interval it gives you two 15-second intervals to concentrate on the teeth you want whitened (usually everything that can be seen during your smile).I LOVE THE TIMER!The intervals make me 100% more efficient than I was.

Money is tight and we had to make some serious adjustments to be able to afford such a device (including cutting a few extras out of our vacation) but we have not regretted it once! This device has already saved us a couple whitening treatments and will probably save us a few extra dentist bills down the line.Do yourself a favor and make room for this in your budget. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!

Philips Sonicare does it again. This model replaced our previous Elite 9500 model (purchased in Dec. '06), which was also a great brush minus design flaws in the brush heads and base that allowed (what I'll call) yucky stuff to build up, which turned into an every two week ritual of cleaning with Qtips and alcohol. And even though we replaced the brush heads as suggested, the base also had a 'cup' that got quite nasty over time. I cursed the designer and kept my eye out for a better Sonicare design that also included the latest UV cleaning system. Enter the HX6733/70 Healthy White system, which has so far superseded my expectations. The Healthy White model has no cups or pockets for any yuck to get caught in, not on the base or the head. The sanitizer is a great addition, though I'm not exactly sure of the true benefits since the brush head and base design are that much more superior, but I still use it periodically. And even this is easy: after finished brushing, pull the brush head off the base, shake off excess water, open the door on the sanitizer, place the brush facing the light on one of the two bases, close the door and push the UV button on top. Often times, it finishes cleaning (I know from the light at the top) while I'm still at the sink. If not, I just leave it in there until next brushing and take it out then.

We have had this system for 2 months now. I have not had to do any sort of cleaning to the brushes or the system. The brush functionality and options are similar if not exactly like our previous model. It does seem that this one has a bit more 'ooomph' when it comes to brushing (I definitely can't talk to my finance when he's brushing because he can't hear me over the noise/vibration of the brush-but I think there are different settings also that we haven't looked into). This package deal was a perfect replacement for me and my fiance in that I don't need anything else. His brush is the one that sits on the base that has the UV sanitizer (which has a charger) and this package also comes with another base charger (I think it's considered the 'travel' one) which is the one that mine sits on. Plus there are two travel cases and I think another different brush head came with it...and voila, a complete package for two people for a great price that you can't beat even at those local markets/discount stores. Way to go Philips (and Amazon for offering this package)! I'm definitely a returning customer to both organizations/companies!

Philips Sonicare HX6711/02 HealthyWhite 710 Rechargeable Electric Toothbrush

Philips Sonicare HX6711/02 HealthyWhite 710 Rechargeable Electric ToothbrushThe batteries on my old Sonicare Elite (E-series) died on me, so I decided to get a new one.The R710 has several incremental upgrades which are worth the difference in price.

First and foremost, like the FlexCare line, it uses the ProResults head. This alone is worth the price difference. They snap in easily, they cost less, and the handle traps much less gunk than before.Sold.I'm still waiting to see how long they last, my guess is about the same.

In addition to the regular cleaning cycle, the R710 has a second cycle designed to scrub away stains. It's selected by pushing the power button twice. In this mode, the 5th (last) interval of the normal cycle is pulsed in a way that's supposed to break up stains on your visible teeth.Note that after this interval, the brush stops. If you still want to brush your tongue or concentrate on hard-to-reach areas, you'll have to push the power button again.

The R710 now also comes with a Li-ion battery, meaning a noticeable decrease in weight as well an increase in battery life. The charger is about half the size of the Elite's, but it doesn't have anywhere to wrap the cord like the deluxe charger on the Flexcare. It comes with a little plate that holds two extra heads though. The charge indicator is a simple LED.If it's blinking, it's below 50%; if it's solid, then it's above.Maybe not as informative or fun to watch as the Elite or FlexCare, but it does the job.

In short, if you want a good basic Sonicare, this is the one to get.It has all the great redesigned features of the FlexCare but less of the (IMO gimmicky) extra routines and modes. If you have sensitive teeth, check out the R732.For an extra $20, it also comes with a few extra accessories like a case and deluxe charger.

UPDATE (1/5/2011): My Sonicare failed a few days before the 2-year warranty expired. It powered on, but the action gradually weakened over a week, until the brush head no longer moved at all.

Following a short call, Philips promptly sent out a new HX6730 handle along with a return mailer for the defective unit. Great support, as long as you're within the warranty period.

My husband & I have been using the HealthyWhite for a little over a week now and we both agree that it gives our teeth the best brushing we've ever had at home.

Our new dentist and the dental hygienist recommended Sonicare to us both as we both have some gum recession and sensitivity. Rather than just go right out and purchase the first Sonicare we saw on the shelf, we decided to look at the available options.

The other big player in the power toothbrush game is Oral B. There are several others as well, but reviews were difficult to find so the choice eventually came down to Sonicare or Oral B. Also considering that power toothbrushes run on the pricey side (for us anyway), I insisted on doing research.

My research included: Visiting both the Sonicare and Oral B websites and reading about all the different models; reading online reviews, including Amazon reviews, for each of the different models; and a lengthy discussion with our dental hygienist.

The companies' websites were useful for general information. For me, though, the Amazon and other online reviews, were much more helpful in pointing out problems/successes with both Sonicare and Oral B power toothbrushes.

I actually looked at reviews for each Sonicare and Oral B models. After reading the reviews for the lower priced (and apparently older? Sonicare models), like the Essence, I determined that I did NOT want to purchase any of those models. The primary reason: The design of these brushes apparently allows water/toothpaste to seep into part of the brush handle in such a way that mold forms.

With the HealthyWhite and the Flexcare, Sonicare solved this problem, but I was very skeptical about spending nearly $100 (or more!) for a toothbrush.

The Oral B apparently does not suffer from the design flaw of the lower priced Sonicare models and I was actually all set to go ahead with one of the lower priced Oral B models, until I spoke with the dental hygienist.

Following that conversation, I concluded that even if I purchased an Oral B for my own dental needs, we would still need to purchase a Sonicare for my husband, whose needs exceed mine a bit.

For us then it made sense to buy one brush handle and just purchase another brush head.

Although I had read about the difference between sonic dental technology (which Sonicare uses) and oscillating/rotating technology (that Oral B uses), it didn't really make sense to me until my conversation with the hygienist.

The way it was basically explained to me as follows (Sorry if this is a bit graphic):

Sonic technology mixes the toothpaste with your own saliva. The "sonic" part of the technology not only reaches the surface of the teeth but into spaces that no traditional brushing mechanism can reach, even getting in and around the gums.

The Oral B apparently uses the more "traditional" brushing technology and only cleans the area that the bristles of the brush themselves can reach.

This changed my mind, especially in light of my husband's dental needs. At that point, it made more sense to buy one of the newer Sonicare models.

When I first used the Sonicare I expected it to be very loud based on reviews I had read. In my opinion it is quieter than my hairdryer, the noise of which does not bother me. It did take both of us a few days to get used to the feeling of the brush on our teeth.

The Quadpacer technology is helpful, as is the timing mechanism that all Sonicare brushes have, but not really essential in my case: I prefer the longer "Clean and white" cycle and sometimes find that that is not long enough for me.

Some criticize the auto shutoff, but the easy solution to that is just to turn the brush back on. I can always turn it off if I don't want to go through another 2 minutes.

I was a little surprised that the charger is so light and that the brush handle does not fit securely onto the charger: It just rests on the charger and could easily be knocked off. The charger does have room to hold 2 other brushheads.

I have not had any problems with the brushhead popping off the handle when I am brushing my teeth. I do have to be careful about keeping my mouth closed when I am brushing as well as remembering to not start the brush until it's in my mouth.

Overall, though we are very happy with our Sonicare and we really hope it results in better dental appointments. If it does, then it is well worth it despite the higher price tag. My issue with the auto shutoff and the charger do not outweigh the benefits of this brush.

I would recommend this toothbrush, but before doing so I would first recommend talking to your dentist/hygienist and doing your own research. Everyone's dental needs are unique and this brush (or any Sonicare) may not be the right fit for all.

Also, for those of you who do buy a Sonicare, if you register the brush with Sonicare (either online or with the card that comes in the package),the company will send coupons for additional products. I have not yet registered our brush so I don't know how well this works or what kind of coupons Sonicare sends.

I've owned two generations of Sonicares previous to this one a first generation basic model way back, and an elite 5500 (?) that got the more natural slanted shaft and got rid of awkward plastic tab behind the brush of the 1st gen.Neither one died on me, both lasted years.

From the E-series to the R-series (710), the major upgrades seem to be:

-Cheaper, better, simpler and smaller replacement brushes. No longer complicated screw-on affairs, the brushes just get pushed on a vibrating bolt, for lack of a better term. There are a lot less places for disgusting gunk to build up and easier clean up.Take much less time to switch heads, if you have to share them (or if the kids have to). They are slightly cheaper to replace, natural as it seems a lot less complicated design.

-Charger base is smaller, same bolt on design as brush head.

-Setting for tooth whitening.Wilder pulsing basically.

-Sleeker, smaller, more comfortable body.

I only moved from the E-series because I orignally bought it as a 2-for-1 special with a family member who eventually moved out and it only came with one base charger. An extra (replacement) one would have cost nearly $45 with shipping + replacement brush head for at least $13, might as well buy a new set at that point.

If you have a Sonicare already, it's probably most economical to stay with yours till it dies as none of the features are revolutionary.Still, I probably like the brush head redesign and resulting cleanliness/lack-of-gunk the best.

When our old Sonicares stopped working after 4 years, I knew I wanted to get another Sonicare. Even though slightly more expensive, we decided to go with a newer model because the older versions get gunky at the base and under the toothbrush head. Plus, the replacement heads for the newer models are more inexpensive. Therefore, I was left to try to decide between the Flexcare and the HealthyWhite. I went with the 3-mode healthywhite and wished I'd picked the Flexcare. I wish I had known that HealthyWhite just adds 30 seconds to brush time, to let you focus on your front teeth. It doesn't change the way it brushes your teeth for that additional 30 seconds.

Pros: 1. Brush head snaps on and is much less gunky than older models

2. Lightweight handle

3. Sensitive mode is nice after dental work

4. Cleans teeth really well--all sonicare models are amazing at cleaning your teeth, even between teeth

5. The three mode HealthyWhite brush comes with a small head for focusing on one tooth at a time like at the dentist's

office, and a place on the base to hold it. It looks very compact and neat on the sink.

6. Quad-pacing makes sure you evenly time where you brush your teeth. I include the tops of my teeth with each section,

but I've always wished it including time for them in the quad-pacing. But I wouldn't want a Sonicare that didn't

offer any pacing. I've gotten used to the luxury.

7. Automatic shut off after 2minutes (and 30 seconds if using HealthyWhite mode). I do wish it were slightly longer.

Sometimes I do the 2-min 30second cycle twice, I think 3 minutes would be the perfect amount. Wouldn't buy it if it

didn't time you! I like to know I'm brushing long enough.

8. You can opt-out of the gradual increase in power which is nice if you've already been using a sonicare. But I like it

for convincing other family members they should be using one!

9. Rechargable and battery lasts for weekend trips without carting the charger with me! Even with me using it more than

2min 30 seconds every time.

Cons: 1."Healthywhite" option doesn't really do anything but give you 30 seconds longer to brush your teeth

2. You have to press the button 3 times to get to the healthywhite options every time you turn on the toothbrush. It

starts in regular clean mode, press again for sensitive and a third time for healthywhite. It would be nice if it

could start in the longer mode automatically/remember your preference.

If I had it to do over again, I'd buy the Flexcare. I feel like the "healthywhite" is just a gimmick. The Flexcare is more attractive/modern looking, has all of the "pros" of the Healthywhite, offers longer timing, and a sanitizer for not much more money.

My dentist originally told me to steer clear of the rotating brushes to clean your teeth, not much more than taking sandpaper to your teeth. I have since switched dentists, and this gadget had come recommended by many friends, as well as my new dentist. It vibrates the head of the brush at a super high rate of speed. Gone are the days of moving the toothbrush back and forth over your teeth. Simply put on toothpaste, put in mouth, and turn on. Place the head on your teeth and work however you see fit. Every 30 seconds, the tone changes, and you change quadrants in your mouth. This is my one complaint, I'd like to see variable timed (longer) intervals. After two minutes, or 2:30 if you chose the whitening mode, the brush shuts off. Almost four months after having been to the dentist, my teeth still have that super slick clean feeling, I LOVE it!

Crest 3d White Glamorous White Rinse 32 Fl Oz (Pack of 3)

Crest 3d White Glamorous White Rinse 32 Fl OzAt least, it is the only one that I could easily FIND without alcohol I do live in a smaller town so our range of products may be limited. For many people, it is critical that a mouthwash not contain alcohol, as that substance is absorbed on the tongue, thus gets into the system even without swallowing.

I can smell/taste the hydrogen peroxide after use. Apparently the gasses travel from the mouth to the nasal cavity, which if I recall my anatomy training correctly, is logical. I am willing to put up with that if the bleaching action works because I am unhappy with the appearance of my teeth and unwilling to give up various foods that stain them. I am also thinking that I will use this mouthwash for a period of time, then return to my regular one. And plan to keep swapping off.

I have not (yet) noticed any of the adverse reactions reported by other users. However, I do feel the same sensations caused by the Crest Pro-Health "multi-protection" rinse I had been using prior, which is to say that a tingling is produced that some might even call pain. Because I've been using a mouthwash right along, I've come to expect this sensation and associate it with my mouth getting cleaner, bacteria being killed.

The bottom line is that my teeth are becoming whiter over several weeks. My marker is one capped incisor that unfortunately matched my teeth 'way back when and now is far too white, creating a telltale contrast. I think my aging teeth are simply becoming translucent and I'm not sure anything can correct that. But with this whitening rinse, they definitely are better.

UPDATE, Nov. 4, 2011: I want to report that I have been using this product daily for 5 months now without any of the gum-pain, bleeding or tooth sensitivity problems reported by other users. Apparently these are problems for some but not for others. I want to be clear that I don't doubt the reports of others; I am simply stating that with long-term use, I have not experienced these negative results.

So, other than brushing regularly, which I learned after a very painful root canal experience (it wasn't the procedure that hurt, but the events necessitating the procedure, that were torture), I'm pretty much brutal on my teeth. I have dipped Copenhagen long cut for the better part of ten years, usually a 1/4 to a whole can a day. I know. Judge me if you like. BUT! What I do is ALWAYS rinse my mouth out afterwards. I also drink a lot of coffee and smoke cigarettes fairly regularly. Now that you view me as white trash, I'll say this: my dentist told me that for as "much as you dip and drink coffee, your teeth and gums are darn near perfect." When he pokes and prods, I feel no pain in the gums. I attribute it to this rinse and others. My teeth don't look like a smoker's, and they're not dingy looking. They're pretty nice teeth, so Crest 3D white has been my counterbalance of choice for my terrible habits. Been using it for over a year, and I couldn't be happier with the results. I'm like that one guy: I see mouth tingling or pain as progress, bacteria being killed. I love this product.

Along with Crest's 3D toothpaste, I began to see results after using them for 1-2 weeks. However, at the same time, there seems to be a few cons to come with it.

PROs

-Worked for me! I brush my teeth 2-3 times a day and use the rinse morning and night

-Feels like it works

CONs

-The aftertaste isn't that great.

-Lost sense of taste to certain things. Foods didn't taste as sweet as before. This has happened in the middle of the day. Hours after rinsed with the mouthwash. Taste eventually comes back.

This is a very healthy product.I have used it for years like 10 or 15 years -ever since word got out that alcohol is a horrible germ fighter for the mouth. My dentist compliments me semi-annually year after year, saying "Whatever you are doing, keep it up."This mouthwash is safe and does what it says -without the dry-tongue and disease-making effects of alcohol, unlike Listerine, which not only smells bad but tastes bad and can cause illness. The mouth is not meant to retain alcohol as a cleanser for gum disease.Nothing can be improved upon Crest 3d White -except perhaps the price -but for that every consumer has the jaded. greedy and vicious Zionist-controlled Federal Reserve Bank to thank.

Emmi-dent 6 100% Ultrasonic Toothbrush

Emmi-dent 6 100% Ultrasonic ToothbrushUpdate 2/2013... Just had my second dental cleaning, and this one was the first cleaning where I have used the Emmi-dent tooth brush for the whole time between visits. The hygienist was very impressed. I had very little tartar build-up, and really only on the inside of the lower 4 front teeth. I could actually see a little bit of it myself so I knew there was some there. There was absolutely no bleeding during the tartar removal and the hygienist commented on that, as if it was unusual. She said my gums were very healthy. My teeth do not feel any more polished after the cleaning then before the cleaning, which speaks very highly of this toothbrush. I referenced in my earlier post about some staining between some of my upper teeth that has been there as long as I remember. Well, that staining is almost completely gone now. I would not be surprised if it does not disappear completely before my next 6 month visit. My daily usage is now as follows: morning brushing takes about 6 minutes. I hold the brush for 6 seconds (or six heart beats) on each spot before moving to the next location. Evening brushing takes about 12 minutes as I hold the brush for 10 seconds (or 10 heartbeats) on each spot. I floss before each brushing. I still use the oral-breeze water pick after every meal. I use a fluoride rinse each evening after the brushing.

*******************************************

I had been using the high-end Sonicare toothbrush for at least 5 to 6 years. It was the best toothbrush I had ever used, until this one. I brush twice a day, use the Oral-breeze water pick (everyone should own one of these), and also floss in the mornings. I still get cavities, not many, but I think I have had 2 over the last 5 to 6 years. So I took a leap and bought this after seeing an interview on Foxnews and then reading about it on their website. This toothbrush is fantastic. It took about a week of use and it had removed the stains in the bottom front teeth from coffee/tea. It has been several months since my last cleaning, and I found some small amounts of tarter on the inside of my bottom front teeth. After about a week, I picked at that tarter and it just popped off, no kidding. They put a motor in the toothbrush so it vibrates because apparently it does not make any noise or movement when utrasonically cleaning. So the motor lets you know it is on. It takes longer then they say to clean your teeth with the brush, but I don't care. I am not sure of how much overlap is necessary so I am probably wasting time because of that. I have developed a couple of techniques which seem to help. You generate a lot of saliva during brushing, so I point my mouth down into the sink and just let it drain. I do the bottom teeth first because that is where most of the saliva seems to be and it waters down the toothpaste. The toothpaste claims to aid in micro bubbles and it is not supposed to have any abrasive cleaner in it. It definitely bubbles up and foams. I also started rocking the toothbrush back and forth at each spot as if I was rolling around each molar and tooth a bit. The ultrasound transfers to the teeth via the bristles, so I figure the more places that make contact the better. It is removing (slowly) deep yellow stains from in between my molars and that is amazing as I am sure I have had these stains for the last 30 to 40 years. I point the brush slightly toward the gums as well to make sure the ultrasound is being somewhat into the gums. Of course I am not sure if any of these things are necessary, but I am very, very pleased with the results of this toothbrush.

The brushes are supposed to be replaced every 3 months and they are not real cheap, although you can get them in a 10 pack. But they are not as expensive as Sonicare replacement brushes, and I believe Sonicare tells you to replace your brush every 3 months.

Bacteria:

The ultrasound is supposed to kill the bacteria and in fact on a regular toothbrush, the bacteria lives on your brush even in between cleanings so you think you are removing them and then you simply add them back when you brush the next time. Emmi-dent goes out of their way to tell you to leave the brush ON the whole time you have the brush in your mouth and to turn it on BEFORE you put it in your mouth, and to NOT turn it off until after you have rinsed it and are done. This is to make sure that bacteria does not live on the brush. I believe that the ultrasound's ability to kill bacteria on the brush and in your mouth, under the gum, and inbetween your teeth you you cannot possible get a toothbrush, is probably the BIGGEST benefit of this toothbrush. They say you can even use it to kill bacteria in a sore in your mouth simply by holding the brush against the sore.

CONS:

The tube of toothpaste only comes in one size and I think I am only going to get 5 to 6 weeks out of it. I brush twice a day and use the amount they say, which is "about the size of two small peas". Regular toothpaste is not recommended, because according to Emmi-dent, regular toothpaste will not foam up and create micro-bubbles and it also has about 75% abrasive cleaner in it. Emmi-dent toothpaste has no abrasive cleaner in it, or very, very little.

Followup after 2.5 months of use:

The refill size of toothpaste is larger then the one that comes with the toothbrush, so that is good news and it should last a bit longer then I thought. The toothbrush is addicting and it does a most incredible job. There are some old stains between some of my upper teeth that have been around for as long as I can remember. These are slowly going away. The ones on the bottom of my front teeth, were cleared up quickly and I drink a cup of coffee every morning so the toothbrush must keep up! It takes a lot longer to do a thorough job of cleaning your teeth, but I have no issues doing it. You do drool like you would in a dentist office so you should plan on leaning over the sink and just let it drain on it's own. My teeth feel cleaner then they have ever felt. I go to get my regular cleaning in a couple of weeks and I will post what the hygienist has say about my teeth....

Followup after first checkup, at about 2.8 months of use:

Inconclusive, to me anyway. My gums got a 5 thumbs up, they were very healthy. There was still some tartar on the inside and outside of the bottom front and back teeth. I was never able to completely clear up the staining and that appeared to be where the tartar was. The hygienist was very impressed and said she thought the new tooth brush did a great job. I was just hoping for a "AMAZING" from her. She did say that a better test would be the next time, with me using it from day one, after a thorough cleaning. I had almost 4 months between when my last cleaning and when I started using the new brush. My hygienist kept asking me "So how do your teeth feel after you use it?" That seemed to be the key for her. My teeth have never felt cleaner!

New summary: I am not going back to my Sonicare, and I still feel this is the best toothbrush I have ever used. Maybe I will get an "AMAZING" 6 months from now. We shall see.

Interesting product. Seems to clean the teeth properly. They feel clean to the tongue and seem whiter. It takes a bit of time to get used to the fact that you don't brush and it takes a bit longer to brush your teeth following their recommended 5 sec minimum per pair of teeth.

What I don't like about this product is the fact that you need their special "ultrasonic toothpaste" to get all the advertised benefits. At around 6 dollars for 75 ml (about 3/4 of a normal toothpaste tube) that you can only get from their web site, it's expensive and too limited in it's availability.

As for the toothbrush, same deal. Every 3 months,15 dollars for a pair of brush heads that you get from the web site.

Finally, the technology itself. They claim they use ultrasound that don't really require a toothbrush. A "sponge" would have been ok, but they claim they had to stick to what people are used to in order to get better acceptance. They even go as far as generating a vibration of the toothbrush for the same reason. But get this: you need to change the toothbrush every three months because "ultrasound is less effective traveling through a worn toothbrush". Hum...

As for the special toothpaste, it supposedly creates "nano bubbles" that "implode" and thus clean more deeply. I'm sceptical, sorry.

I really hope this product gets wide acceptance and really delivers on it's promises. But for now, I think it's another strategy of another company trying to get our money.

I wanted to hold off on a review of this product, until I had used it for a while. So 3 weeks later I feel that I have enough information to be able to write an objective review.

So the reason that I bought this toothbrush is because my wife has celiac disease (best explanation is that she is allergic to wheat/gluten). One of the consequences of this disease is that her ability to uptake calcium is severely limited. This consequence makes her teeth week and the enamel thin. She has lots of dental problems and they will only get worse as she gets older. Because dentist visits are expensive, I wanted to extend the time between visits. I saw this also as an article on Fox and was intrigued by the idea. I did some cursory research and all seemed well so I went to the website and ordered the toothbrush. This part is the reason that I only gave this 4 stars, because honestly the toothbrush is 6 stars :). When I placed my order I received the customary e-mail that said that my order had been received. Then .... nothing. After six days of nothing I put a hold on the transaction with my bank, I suspected fraud. Three days after that I received an e-mail that said that there was unexpected demand and that a new shipment was in transit. I received e-mails daily after that, that updated of the progress through customs. This experience put a serious doubt that I would receive a product that was even real. I went on loser alert and was seriously skeptical of the whole thing. To alleviate some fears of those reading, this is indeed a real product and it seems to originate from from a German company called EMAG. If you do some searches using EMAG you will find a little bit more information on this toothbrush. Unfortunately a lot of what you find is in German, but some google translation can help. All that said (do you hear me sabrina?) here is what I think of the actual toothbrush itself.

The toothpaste that is offered is NOT gluten free ... boooooo!!! The good news is that my wife hasn't really noticed a difference as she uses Crest with the toothbrush. I use the Emmi-Dent toothpaste just because I want to support the product, and honestly I don't use enough to make it cost prohibitive. Both my wife and I have really noticed a difference in the whiteness of our teeth, I mean really a difference. What you see when you do your search on the internet is what we have experienced with our teeth. I flossed when we first got the toothbrush and because I am such a bad flosser my teeth bled as usual. I flossed just to check up weekly and each week the amount bleeding decreased until there was no more bleeding (this week). Woot! I loathe flossing. I also I have gum rescission on my lower front teeth. The gums are now moving back up nicely.

Using this toothbrush takes longer than regular brushing, and I keep the old toothbrush on hand just in case I need to brush my teeth and I am in a rush. Not that it takes really that much longer to brush with this toothbrush, it is just that I am occasionally late in the morning and I just want to have a fresh mouth :) Other things to note. The damn vibration tickles. Just puttin' that out there. I haven't had any issues with my porcelain crown or with any of my resin fillings. To be fair it has only been 3 weeks.

I got this toothbrush as a present. I was very skeptic to begin with. Just another gimmick, I thought. But after I used it for the first time, I was totally sold. The stains my dental hygienist told me were permanent actually had become smaller. By now (2 months later) they are actually almost gone. I have no intention to go back for another cleaning. The brushes need only replacing (in my opinion) if you cannot keep yourself from brushing. The ultrasound cleanses them, so why replace them. The toothpaste has to be ordered, but you need very little, so I ordered a year's supply at one time. That is doable and my teeth are worth it. My gums also have improved. At almost 60 years of age, this is very encouraging. Love my toothbrush, wouldn't trade it for anything!

I have been using the Emmi-dent 6 100% Ultrasonic toothbrush for more than a month and I am so happy with it, I tossed out my manual toothbrush. The only thing you have to get used to is there is no brushing. I have been skeptical a bit but read positive reviews and watched a Fox news report about it

So, that convinced me to give it a try. Besides, it has now a 2-year warranty.

And I was not wrong: My teeth feel cleaner, my gums feel better and my girlfriend didn't notice I didn't chew any gum to freshen my breath. I certainly would recommend to anybody who wants to have healthy white teeth. Even though you won't get instant results, expect noticeable improvements in about three weeks as in my case (whiter teeth and fresher breath).

Just a tip: use a digital clock that shows the seconds for the first time you brush the teeth. Hold it for 5 to 10 seconds (or longer if you got more impurities) against your teeth and then go on to the next teeth. And,wash and dry your handset thoroughly after each use. And, never leave it run out of power. I read the manual and it says to charge it always is best to ensure a long battery life. But you can still use it for more than 10 hours without charging. Yet, if you see a red light, stop using your toothbrush and charge it.

Unfortunately, I have been looking for the emmi-dent annual supply set (4 brushes, 10 tooth pastes). I hope Amazon will list it again soon.

BTW: Some complain about the expensive toothpaste but I don't complain anymore as it does work and I used to buy Rembrandt which is much more expensive yet without the great results from my Emmi-dent toothbrush.

Dazzling White Instant Teeth Whitening Pen, 4 Shades Whiter in a week, 0.07 Oz

Dazzling White Instant Teeth Whitening Pen, 4 Shades Whiter in a week, 0.07 OzI purchased 4 of these pens at my local dollar tree. I have found that if you use a whitening toothpaste when you brush, like colgates daily whitening, and this pen, it works quite nicely. The only thing I don't like is that I have to sit with a big toothy grin while it dries. Doesn't take long, but you look stupid. If you wait till it dries to close your mouth, the taste is almost gone. It's like a peroxide gel pen. I love mine! I've seen a difference using it once a day for the past 4 weeks and wow can I see a difference. My teeth aren't ghost white, but I drink coffee, sodas, eat berries... But the difference is very noticeable. If the dollar tree runs out, I'll buy it on here.

I put this on before I brush my teeth and it works great. For a night out I put it on and use the hair dryer to speed up the process. It works just as well as anything I have tried before (strips, trays) and the price is great. The pen is perfect for someone who needs more help on certain teeth, and it does not have as bad a taste as other products.

Crest Whitestrips Supreme Professional Strength 84 strips

Crest Whitestrips Supreme Professional Strength 84 stripsAs a dentist, I am often asked by patients and friends where to start in terms of selecting a bleaching product.Since Crest produces some very good products, I generally steer them to Crest products. However, there are a multitude of Crest bleaching products to select from, so where does one begin? Here is my advice in selecting and using Crest Bleaching products:

First, let's begin with Crest Whitestrips Supreme Professional Strength. The bleaching strip is different from all the other Crest Bleaching products in two ways:It has a 14% hydrogen peroxide bleaching gel, and the strip is 50% thinner than previous products. The primary advantage to this system is (in general) a quicker bleaching result, and less exposure to hydrogen peroxide, as there is less hydrogen peroxide in each strip (which is why the strip is 50% thinner). One bleaches for 30 minutes a day for 21 days for maximal result.Crest also claims less gum irritation by using this product.

A brief review of the other Crest bleaching products is in order to understand the other options available.Crest White Strips come in as many as 7 different formulations. This can be very confusing for the consumer! Please remember the key difference in all these products is the strength of the hydrogen peroxide gel, and of course the price. The higher the dose of hydrogen peroxide, the faster the bleaching result, and the most costly as well. Here is a quick summary of the products:

1. Crest White Strips Classic (6% hydrogen peroxide, 14-day treatment). 2. Crest White Strips Premium (10% hydrogen peroxide, 7-day treatment). 3. Crest White Strips Premium Plus (10% hydrogen peroxide, and has 12 additional strips).

4.Crest Pro Effects (10% hydrogen peroxide, 10-day treatment).

5. Crest Advanced Seal (10% hydrogen peroxide, 10-day treatment).

6. Daily Whitening Multicare (6% hydrogen peroxide, 5-minutes/day, 6-week supply)

7.Daily Whitening with Tartar Protection (6% hydrogen peroxide, 5-minutes/day, has a chemical that discourages tartar from attaching to the teeth, 38 upper and lower strips)

In using any of the Crest bleaching products, please follow the specified instructions that come with each product.

1. For most products, the instructions will direct you to bleach twice a day for 30-minutes a time. The inner part of the strip has a chemical called hydrogen peroxide that causes the stains inside your teeth to be oxidized and turn white. Applying the strips has a small learning curve as you will probably bend or fold a couple of them before you get the technique down.

2. Leave the strips on for the time recommended in the instructions and do not overbleach your teeth, as this can lead to sensitivity. Crest bleaching products will generally work for most people, especially younger people and those with yellow stains.

Potential Disadvantages to Consider

1. Hydrogen Peroxide can "burn" your gums. If you notice a burning sensation when you use the product, it is the chemical oxidizing (or burning) your gums (it will turn them white with a minor chemical burn). Depending on how severe the burning is, it may cause you to want to stop the treatment. It is OK to stop the treatment for a day or two to let the gums heal. Once they are healed, resume treatment with the White Strips. Try to not get the strip too far up on your gums.

2. Your teeth may become senstiive during the treatment time. Try to tolerate the sensitivity if it is mild, but if more severe, take a day or two off to let the teeth settle down and then pick up where you left off. You may notice much more sensitivity to cold water, ice cream, etc. The peroxide causes a revesible inflamation of the inner pulp, or nerve center of the tooth and makes the teeth very sensitive to biting or cold drinks or foods. If your teeth become too sensitive, back off on the strips until the sensitivity is gone before resuming bleaching.

3. The strips only cover your front teeth, so only your front teeth will bleach. You may notice the distinct difference between the back (unbleached) teeth and the front (bleached) teeth. Since most people notice the front 6 teeth anyway, this is not a big deal. However, if you have a wide toothy smile, you may want to apply the strips to the back teeth as well.

4. The bleaching effect works best on yellow stains. If your stains are due to tetracycline (brownish grey stains in a band on your teeth, your best bet is to have a dentist whiten your teeth in the office for two sessions and then use White Strips to continue the bleaching process.

Crest White Strips work for the vast majority of people. Younger people with yellow stains seem to respond better than older people or those with gray stains. If you have severely stained teeth, especially those with tetracycline (an antibiotic) stain, the strips may not work well for you.

If you are not satisfied with the results and still desire whiter teeth, consult with your dentist for a more concentrated in-office form of bleaching (called "power bleaching").

Jim "Konedog" Koenig, DDS

I am a dentist who recommends Crest White Strips to my patients because they do work to whiten teeth. However, they have to be used correctly and I recommend that you follow the directions exactly as specified inside the box.

1. First brush your teeth to remove the layer of plaque. Do not use toothpaste just a wet toothbrush.Your teeth have micropores and the pores need to be open for the chemical to penetrate. If toothpaste is used, the fluoride in the toothpaste may inhibit the penetration of the hydrogen peroxide bleaching agent.

2. Use the strips once or twice per day according the instructions. With the "Supreme" Crest Whitestrips, once per day is enough; with the "Professional" and the "Premium", use the product twice per day.The inner part of the strip has a the hydrogen peroxide that causes the stains inside your teeth to be oxidized and turn white. Applying the strips has a small learning curve as you will probably bend or fold a couple of them before you get the technique down.

2. Leave the strips on for 30 minutes at a time. After thirty minutes your saliva has probably diluted the peroxide to the extent that it is no longer effective. You can reapply a new strip immediately if you chose, for the treatment requires one hour of treatment time per day to work. It does not matter if you do this in one continuous 60-minute period or two 30-minute periods. Do this for two weeks and your teeth will get whiter.

Disadvantages

1. The chemical can and probably will "burn" your gums. If you notice a burning sensation when you use the product, it is the chemical oxidizing (or burning) your gums. Depending on how severe the burning is, it may cause you to want to stop the treatment. It is OK to stop the treatment for a day or two to let the gums heal. Once they are normal again, resume treatment with the White Strips. Try to not get the strip on your gums.

2. Your teeth may become senstive during the treatment time. Try to tolerate the sensitivity if it is mild, but if more severe, take a day or two off to let the teeth settle down and then pick up where you left off. You may notice much more sensitivity to cold water, ice cream, etc.The peroxide causes an inflammation of the inner pulp, or nerve center of the tooth and makes the teeth very sensitive to biting or cold drinks or foods.

However, if you have a wide toothy smile, you may want to have a dentist make you a tray that will hold the chemical on the back teeth to whiten them too.

3. The bleaching effect works best on yellow stains. If your stains are due to tetracycline (brownish grey stains in a band on your teeth, your best bet is to have a dentist whiten your teeth as the dentist will use a tray to hold a more concentrated form of the chemical on your teeth for a longer period of time. A dentist may also recommend an ultraviolet light bleaching which is costly, but works the best on these stains.

Crest White Strips work for the vast majority of people. They don't work as well or as fast as a dentist-made custom try bleaching, but over time, you will get a result that will be close to that of a dentist, and you will save money too. In any event, it is a good place to start with bleaching, and if you are not satisfied with the results, you can then see your dentist for a more concentrated form of bleaching.

FYI:Crest has three different strengths of bleaching products: Supreme (14% peroxide), "Premium (10% peroxide), and "Professional" (6.5% peroxide). The higher the peroxide the faster the bleaching, but the more sensitivity and side effects too.Use the higheer concentrations with caution and follow all instructions to a "T".

Here's the scoop on the stuff. It really, really works and it works fast.

As others have mentioned, it does cause sensitivity, big time. But I found out that if I do it every other day, it is no problem. Everyday and twice a day like the instructions tell you will make you a miserable wretch. Also, if you have the strips on upside down, your gullet and gut will let you know how displeased they are.

First, how it worked on me. After the first day, which I did in two consecutive 30-minute treatments (you can do it that way or else wait a few hours in between treatments), I already noticed the difference. My bottom teeth were, for some reason, yellower than the top--plus the area around my gums were yellower than anything (I am a coffee drinker; I have no diseases or cavities and I don't smoke). When I finished both 30-minute treatments, my top and bottom teeth were the same shade, and my bottom teeth were not bi-colored anymore. When I woke up the next day, they were even a little whiter than before I went to bed. This whitens very quickly and you may not need the whole box -save some for later touch-ups.

Second, the sensitivity. After I finished my treatment (and after I realized the strips don't work upside down) I had no pain, and was thinking, "HUH. This is much nicer than that stuff in a tray the dentist gave me once." I went to bed right after my treatments... and at about 6:00 a.m. I felt a little sore in the jaw. At 7:00 a.m. it hurt a lot more, so I took 3 Advils and a Tylenol and went back to bed. It improved, but I still felt it some. I decided I was not going to do a treatment that day. The day after that, the pain was gone.

So I finally worked out a plan. For no pain (or very little pain) I could do one 30-minute treatment every other day. If I felt like I could grin and bear it, and had nowhere to go anyway, I did two 30-minute treatments every other day. I never put any strips on while I still felt pain, and it still worked wonderfully even though I didn't do it as frequently as the box directions say to. Doing it this way is still faster than buying the store-bought ones, which work very slowly.

Some things to think about:

1. If you need to get your teeth professionally cleaned, do it at least a week before you plan to use these strips.

2. Brush with a sensitive-teeth toothpaste twice a day for a week before you start treatment, and keep using it until you're finished with the treatments.

3. Do your treatment(s) every other day... or even space them out longer if you need to. You will still get whiter teeth than if you use store-bought concentrations.

4. The part of the strip that goes on your teeth is the smooth side--the side that peels off the plastic. The dry bumpy side does not have the gel.

5. If you have a wide smile, like Julia Roberts or Olivia Newton-John, you can either use more strips at a time and cover those back teeth (they stay on okay--just use your finger to fill in any crevices) OR you can alternate the side of your mouth you put the strips on. For example, Monday you can place the strips so they cover the front and right side of your mouth, and Wednesday you can place the strips so they cover the front and left of your mouth. The front teeth will always be covered, but the back teeth will get covered every other treatment--eventually becoming about as white as the front teeth.

6. Brush and floss 3 hours before your treatment, if you want to brush. DO NOT brush right before your treatment because your teeth and gums will kill!! I have heard of opening the pores of the teeth by brushing first, but it makes it so painful--even if you do it lightly. The rough side of a dry washcloth works well, though, to wipe them down and dry them (the strips stick best on dry teeth, anyhow). Conversely, you can use a Waterpic or Hydrofloss to blast your teeth with water to clean things up without roughing up your teeth and gums (and those things also help to rinse the gel out of your mouth when you finish).

Despite the caveats I listed, I gave it 5 stars (really 4.5) because this whitens better than any other treatment I've ever had--from the dentist or store either one--and the price is right. The strips are easy to use and stay put really well. The peroxide will not bother your innards, so long as you don't put them on upside down. Have some ibuprofen or acetaminophen handy for any pain, and enjoy your new smile.

Saw these strips got great reviews, so I picked some up.The first time I tried them, they left more than a tingle on my gums.I've felt the higher concentration of peroxide on these strips more than I have in the past.My gums were a little sensitive for a few hours for the first few times I used the pro white strips. But after a few days, it was business as usual.

On a separate note, these strips don't seem to stay in place as well as others. It seems that the additional peroxide creates more bubbly/foaming and this causes the strips to float on the surface of the teeth. In turn, this makes keeping the strips in place just a little bit tricky.

As far as how they work, they do indeed brighten faster than other strips.

In reality thissupply should last a week, if used twice a day. This might seem like a good alternative for people who would like for a "touch-up", but as a previous reviewer pointed out, these strips didn't seem to be that potent.I didn't even feel my gums tingle. I guess that would be good if I saw some teeth whitening; I didn't. I couldn't find an experimentation date on the box I received, so I wonder if these strips have been sitting for a while and in the process lost their potency. To be fair, I'm not sure that is even a valid concern. I just know that I didn't seem much of a change after a week (using the whole supply) and did not observe any of the usual effects (tooth sensitivity, sensitive gums) that using strips with higher H.P. concentration should produce. Those observations coupled with those of another reviewer suggests that these strips are not the best alternative out there. Please consider my comments for this listing of Supreme PRO. I can't comment on the potency of other whitestrips or other supplies of Crest whitestrips supreme professional.

I have been using supreme whitestrips for over a year on and off and they're great. They REALLY whiten your teeth unlike most products and other whitestrips. My teeth use to be a yellowish white and now they are 100% beautiful white. Pair this with crest 3d vivid white toothpaste and your set for the whitest smile you've ever had. PEOPLE WITH SENSITIVE TEETH WATCH OUT! If you use these on sensitive teeth you are in for the most unbelievably unbearable pain that will bring a tear to any mans eye. I suggest getting rid of any sensitivity before using these. I have very sensitive bottom teeth and cannot use these on my lower level unless using novicane. Overall these are the best hands down but they arent for sensitive teeth.

First of all it's NOT 28 sets of strips as we are led to believe it's 14 packages which are 14 usages...

But the product is excellent and works great

My teeth were whiter after 4 nights remarkable

They can call it 28 because it's got and upper and a lower in each usage pack(obviously, as it should) but I wouldn't call that 28 it's intentionally misleading

Do yourself a favor and save up for the full version. Because for some reason these do not work as good. They probably expired or something.

NEW NITE WHITE MINT EXCEL ACP 4 PK 22% TEETH WHITENING KIT W/0 TRAY

NEW NITE WHITE MINT EXCEL ACP 4 PK 22% TEETH WHITENING KIT W/0 TRAYThis product works well, doesn't taste bad, hasn't caused tooth sensitivity, and also a great value. Whenever I've asked people with very white teeth what product they used, it's been Nite White.

Also prefer the 1 hour treatments with this 22% product rather than longer amounts of time or overnite.

I got the same brand of this whitening kit from my dentist and it worked well. I could see the improvement after using it for a week and my teeth got a little sore from the bleach(i can tell it's working). I ordered this product online, thinking the packaging and details look the same on the picture. However I was a bit suspicious when I received the kit because the gel looked very different from what I got from my dentist. I tried it for a week straight but It didn't seem to work. I didn't see any changes or the sore feeling on my teeth. I'd not recommend this product to my friends/family.

I worked in the dental field for several years and have used many different kinds of whitening gels. This one worked just as well as any of the other whitening products I've used in the past, and at a great price! This concentration is higher than ones I used previously (I used 11% or 15% before). My teeth are prone to getting sensitive so I've tried to be careful not to leave it on for too long, no more than 30-45 minutes, and I've been really happy with the results. One evening I left it on for over an hour and I did have a little sensitivity the next day.

Whitening Tooth Polish with Fluoride-Cool Mint

Whitening Tooth Polish with Fluoride-Cool MintThey have never been this white. I mean NOT EVER. I even tried the regular whitening strips, and this beats that hands down.

I drink lots of coffee and red wine -but my teeth are gleaming white. People keep commenting on them. (I like the "fresh mint" flavor the best)

Luster Premium White Tooth Whitening System, 1 Hour White, At Home

Luster Premium White Tooth Whitening System, 1 Hour White, At HomeI am a coffee drinker (I am big fan of Starbucks), so I am always looking for good whitening products that WORK!This one really did brighten my teeth about 5 shades without and messy trays or strips.I used the product for two days about 30 minutes per day and had no difficultly. The light seemed high tech and worked fine.I am prone to tooth sensitivity and did not experience any with Luster.I would recommend this product.

Right up front: this system changed my teeth from a disgusting rank of "12" on their whiteness chart, to a rank of "7" after 10 of the 2-minute treatments. My gums did not turn white as other reviewers experienced, nor did my lips bleed, nor did my teeth hurt.I'll tell you how.

First and foremost, my teeth are terrible, between yellow & brown. If you have teeth that are just sorta off-white, well, you're not giving the system much to work with.Use this system if you think your teeth are gross.Second, if you read all 122 reviews, you'll find tips.I bothered to read them all and to use all the tips, which I'll list. Here we go.

1.Brush teeth as usual, rinse.

2.Brush teeth with just water (no paste).Rinse, repeat.

Thursday Plantation - Toothpaste Tea Tree Oil, 5 oz toothpaste

Thursday Plantation - Toothpaste Tea Tree Oil, 5 oz toothpasteOver time, this toothpaste made my teeth yellowish. I naturally have white teeth. This was awkward.

The only good thing about this product is it really will keep the plaque off your teeth. You know like your back molars that nobody can see. I've always had problems keeping those teeth plaque free & this toothpaste does the job.

The downsize is, over time your teeth becomes yellowish. But it can easily be corrected by using another toothpaste or whitening toothpaste. The yellowish teeth is not permanent. But who cares, I don't want a toothpaste that make my teeth yellowish over time. I have enough problems.

I've turned into a toothpaste connoisseur now that I brush my teeth about 4-5 times a day due to Invisalign.I found normal toothpaste such as Crest, etc was too abrasive, has artificial sweeteners, and really didn't do much to keep my mouth feeling fresh.I switched to the tea tree toothpaste after using Tom's of Maine and was a little worried that it would taste gross, but it's absolutely wonderful!!The tea tree toothpaste isn't abrasive, no added sweeteners, tastes fine, and keeps my mouth fresher than ever.I highly recommend this toothpaste!!

Sensodyne Sensodyne Pronamel Toothpaste Mint

Sensodyne ProNamel Mint Essence Toothpaste, 4 oz.Here's a test. Go toand compare the active ingredients of Pronamel to Crest Sensitivity. Then, compare the claims of both. Why does Pronamel claim to re-mineralize teeth, fight acidity, and be 'specially' formulated for people who drink sodas, wines, etc. and Crest does not? Answer: because EVERY TOOTH-PASTE REMINERALIZES TEETH and Pronamel does it no better. Just compare the active ingredients. Same amount of fluoride, tons of advertising.

Given a free trial tube of Sensodyne ProNamel by my dentist, I began using it recently. This Mint Essense flavored toothpaste has a very pleasant and mild taste... not overpowering or "shocking" like most toothpastes I've tried. Also, the product I am using is not gritty at all. (One reviewer noted it's gritty feeling; that person likely purchased a fluke and should contact the manufacturer to make a complaint.) I love this product and am hooked even though it's more expensive than others and even though I haven't used it long enough to see physical results.

Well, like the title, I have sensitive teeth. All my life I've dealt with them, then one dentist visit I was given a small sample and I got hooked. My mouth feels cleaner, it tastes cleaner (not that sugary-sweet taste from some other brands), and my teeth are a lot less sensitive. They're even a bit whiter, but that just might be stronger enamel. If you have sensitive teeth, I highly recommend this. if not, your usual brand will probably do.

Pronamel toothpaste

After I came home from the dentist I looked in the little baggie they give you (The one that has a new toothbrush, toothpaste, and floss.) and found a new toothpaste tube with a new brand called Pronamel. I wasn't used to and didn't like changing my normal routine but, this once I guess I could try it. So, I tried it that night .I decided I liked the minty taste. The next morning I noticed when I use it the mintyness lasted for a longtime. After using it for about one month I slowly noticed my teeth were getting whiter. I thought "This stuff really works!" The day after that I decided buy some and eventually me and my family completely switched over to the Pronamel brand toothpaste.

Pronamel brand toothpaste comes in multiple sizes with "Pronamel" promptly stated across the front. The tube/is mainly white with a white cap and pure white toothpaste inside

I know there are lots of people who would like this product (I know I do!) but, people who would really like this product are:, People who want bright white teeth, people who want to save money (from not having to buy gum because the minty freshness lasts), people who want to/do go on dates, and last people who like a nice minty flavor.

Here are the pro's and con's I found with this product: Pro's: You can carry a small tube in your bag in case of a quick rush, Keeps minty fresh for 2-4 whole hours, it removes plaque easily, strengthens your teeth and improves whitens on teeth. Cons:The small sizes are easy to lose which is always so sad :(

The teeth whitening gel is comparable to what I got from my dentist but for far less cost.I already have professional dental trays that fit my teeth, and I think that helps get the gel evenly spread over the teeth. The tubes are much larger than what I got at the dentist and contain more product, making them a real deal.I store the tubes in my refrigerator.

Tom's of Maine Natural Care Toothpaste, Antiplaque, Tartar Control & Whitening, Peppermint, 6 oz (1

Tom's of Maine Natural Care Toothpaste, Antiplaque, Tartar Control & Whitening, Peppermint, 6 ozI bought 6 tubes of this at Amazon, so I'm committed to it.It has a good rating at http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/ which is the main reason I bought it.And it has no flouride, which I love, and it's not a gel, which I likewise love.

Here are my findings:

Pros:

-metal tube, which is really cool and easy to crimp

-less aftertaste than conventional toothpastes (i.e. it actually rinses out of my mouth, unlike most toothpastes where I have to wait an hour before I can eat no matter how much I rinse)

-lathers/foams well, for good tooth coverage

-mild on the gums, less irritating for me personally

-strong whitening power, gets my teeth cleanerand more polished than conventional toothpastes, which I didn't at all expect

Cons (major con!)

-what is with the taste?I have tried baking soda toothpastes before, and this one is even worse in the taste department than those there is not enough of a peppermint taste or the refreshing tingle I was hoping for, tasted mostly of dirt/salt, the likely culprit being the silica in it

-more expensive than conventional pastes

I will keep using this product on principle and for the health of my teeth, but the taste is a real downer.Otherwise, a great product.

When I discovered Tom's peppermint toothpaste, I never want to go back to my usual Crest or Colgate ever again.Although this brand of toothpaste is more expensive, it's worth the price. It has very natural ingredients, whereas, the other toothpastes are high in sugar content.I bought both the spearmint and perppermint because I thought the peppermint would be too strong. The perppermint tastes better than the spearmint to me.It tingles my mouth more and feels more refreshing. The spearmint tastes like extra free gum. After using this toothpaste to brush, my teeth feel cleaner and my mouth feels more refreshed. The dental hygenist also noticed a great improvement on my teeth since the switch. The only thing that I would change about this is the packaging. You really need to start squeezing the toothpaste tube from the bottom because if you keep squeezing from the top and it starts to crease, it'll be very hard to push the toothpaste up.It's not packaged in the normal plastic tubes. It's more like an aluminum-type tube (imagine how aluminum foil creases).Besides that, I'm super happy with this product!

The taste is strong with a really bad after bite, but it works better than anything I've seen.I am halfway through a tube and my teeth are even whiter than when I had them whitened!Definitely worth the adjustment period needed to get used to the taste.

My experience and why I like it:

I have been using Tom's of Maine flouride free toothpaste for almost two years now and am glad I made the switch.I originally switched mainly due to fear after hearing the dangers of flouride. However, this is controversial and I will not go too much in depth. However, what I did realize was that I am probably swallowing a decent amount of flouride by not completely rinsing my mouth out every time I brush (usually I just swish/spit once).By using this toothpaste you will not have to worry about swallowing the toothpaste as there is no warning label on it, though i don't recommend swallowing it.Though flouride free, it offers much protection against cavities as I am a twice a day brusher and have actually seen a decrease in cavities after switching. If combined with flossing (as I only recently have started doing), you will almost certainly not get any cavities. You may have to get used to the bland taste and watery texture, but i think the flavor is acceptable.Since making the switch, I had have experienced a dramatic decrease in canker sores likely caused by harsh ingredients in typical Colgate and Crest toothpaste. This alone perhaps is enough of a selling point.Soon more people will make the switch to more natural toothpastes like this.If you want the benefits of natural toothpastes, try Tom's of Maine or even Burt's Bees (which my dentist recommended). Also, it is important to note that I prefer Pepperment over Spearment Tom's as the taste is significantly more pleasant.

I was looking for a toothpaste free of fluoride and and artificial sweeteners when I decided to try this. The taste does take a little getting used to, but now that I'm used to it I really like it. Its gives you a super-fresh clean feeling in the mouth for hours. Its ridiculous how clean the natural mint makes your mouth feel. When I wake up in the morning my mouth still feels fresh from the night before, which is pretty amazing. And the whitening action really works, although it does take time. I've noticed some tea stains I had on the back of my front teeth are slowly disappearing. Good stuff!

Rembrandt 2 Hour Whitening Kit-8 ct (Quantity of 2)

Rembrandt 2 Hour Whitening Kit-8 ctI am all about comfort. I hate the drooling, slobbering, mess, nasty taste, and time-consumption of other teeth whitening products that I've used. (Crest white strips anyone?) Even though I had never used Rembrandt brand before, I was pleasantly surprised with this product. There is a special mouth tray that you mold to your teeth, you simply dip it for a few seconds in hot water (I just microwaved a mug of water as if I was making tea) and then put them in your mouth and bite down. 5 seconds later, the tray has molded perfectly to your teeth. Then you take the trays out, squeeze some of the whitening cream into the tray, and wear them for 15 minutes. I used the 2 hour program while I was browsing the internet, writing some letters, painting my nailsand there was no drooling, or extra saliva in my mouth. The trays were big enough to keep the whitening product in the trays and not oozing out into my mouth, but small enough so that I could wear both trays (top and bottom) without feeling uncomfortable. It was very easy, I am very pleased.

The whiteness lasted pretty long too, I'd say about 6 months. And, I never felt any tooth sensitivity (cold/heat) afterward like I did with other products.
