I'm getting married in September, and wanted to brighten my teeth for all of those expensive wedding pictures that I'm going to be in!So, instead of forking over $400+ for a whitening system from the dentist's office (when you're paying for a wedding, who has an extra $400 lying around?)I decided to give this system a try.The good news is that the stuff works!I've only used it twice so far (leaving it on for about an hour each time)and can see a difference in the color of my teeth.The bad news is, it really is powerful stuff and can do a number on your gums.I took the advice of some others, and dried my teeth off and applied the gel directly to my teeth using a q-tip with the cotton pulled off.While effective, there is still the "drool factor" which makes some of the gel migrate off of the teeth and on to the gums.Because it is a 36% percent peroxide product, it did cause some slight chemical burning on two small spots on my gums, along with some mild pain the second time I used it; the irritation resolved overnight.I used the product two days in a rowmaybe it would have been smarter to wait a few days in between to give my gums a rest and a chance to recoup.I think that they were still sensitive from the first session.So now, I'm waiting a few days before I try it again.The only other issue I have with this product is the traysI can see how custom-fit trays from the dentist would be nice. . . I'm sure it would make the process a bit easier.All in all, for the price, I really can't say that I made a bad investment.I will update this review after a few more whitening sessions, and let you all know how it turns out.Oh, and one other thingI began using Sensodyne toothpaste a few days before I started whitening, and continue to use it to decrease tooth sensitivity post-whitening.So far, this has worked well for me.
I'll try to update this review with my next few uses. I think I'll do it once a week to start for 20 minutes each time. I have my fingers crossed that it keeps working as well for me:-)I used white strips and they worked well but didn't get between my teeth. These trays worked for that. My teeth are whiter. I want to do it a few more times to reach the true white I want. The tube is enough for several whitening treatments. This kit comes with two sets; they are easily enough for 6-8 treatments. The trays come big and I had to cut them to make them comfortable but that is easy to do. They say to dip them in boiling water to shape them. That didn't work so I used them unshaped and they worked fine.It works fine.It's not a miracle cleaner/whitener.It claims 4-8 shades whiter in 20 days, but I am not sure if that means that you have to use it for 20 days straight.It does work, but I don't think you would be able to tolerate it for too many days consecutively due to sensitivity of your gums.By the third consecutive day, I needed to rest for a few days.By the end of the first tube there were noticeable changes.
I believe that this product works best over a few weeks.Your teeth didn't get discolored overnight, so they're not going to get white overnight.Use this a couple times a week (even once a week) and you will get positive results.
The price is great for two tubes (10ml each), remineralizing gel, plus 2 trays.You will use about 1ml per treatment.The trays are a slick, rubbery type and you don't need to boil and form them.They fit in your mouth well and clean easily.Start at a lower time and work your way up, depending on your gum sensitivity.It averages out to a little over a $1 per treatment, so the value is outstanding.
So happy to find this new Watts Power teeth whitening shield kit on Amazon. I originally purchased the shield alone to use with the gels from my dentist. Due to some teeth work, my custom tray no longer fit and I did not want to pay more than $200.00 for a new tray. So, I tried this shield system and I have to say I am glad that I did. It saved me a ton and gave me a power white smile. Watts Power Gel works fast and this kit minimized the drooling. A friend of mine paid much more for this kit from another retailer. Watts Power also offers this shield system in stronger percentages as well. Simply an excellent product and value....
