Opalescence Tréswhite Supreme - Melon - Tooth Whitening System

I am actually wearing a Treswhite upper whitening tray as I type this, and I am experiencing no discomfort whatsoever.In response to the first review, the reason this person found so many problems with this product was probably that they did not read and follow the instructions.The instructions with the trays specifically state that one should "lightly press [the tray] into place" and "lightly adapt inner tray".My hypothesis is that this individual pressed far too firmly on the trays, causing the peroxide gel to squirt out.To me, that review screamed user error, not flawed product.

I've given this product five stars because it is the best over-the-counter whitening product I've personally tried.The kit is comfortable and easy to use, and the gel tastes quite yummy.The trays cover my entire arch through about the anterior half of my second molars, which is well behind the portion of my teeth that shows when I smile.Also, compared to products like Whitestrips, which are thin and cellophane-like, the portion of the whitening tray that remains on your teeth with Treswhite is much more substantial.When I've used Whitestrips, the strips tend to slide around a lot, even if I try to keep my mouth and teeth as immobile as possible.With Treswhite, the inner tray stays in place quite easily, and I can speak nearly normally with it in.

Okay, nowhere on these directions does it say not to press the gel against your teeth. All I have here is a little booklet telling me how to put the trays in. So the first two times I used this, I pressed the gel against my teeth, thinking that they needed to be covered completely. As a result, the peroxide solution and some of the protective goo oozed out, my gums started stinging and the tip of my tongue began to feel as if I'd recently drank some coffee that was way too hot. I thought these trays were horrible instruments of torture and didn't know how anyone could tolerate such things in the name of whiter teeth. I felt like the first reviewer!

I came to my senses and began to look up reviews of the product here and found that (!) you're not supposed to poke at the tray full of gel once it's on your teeth. It is not supposed to ooze out of the top and fill your mouth with peroxide and goo. You're supposed to leave it alone. Amazing I was under the impression that the trays had to be smashed right onto your teeth. So, anyhow, I decided to give it one last shot before I went and asked my dentist why he hated me. It worked! While the bottom tray doesn't quite fit my teeth just right (it's a little tweaked in the back), this is perfectly comfortable now. I noticed a slight difference in my coloring yesterday after the second time around, so I'm excited to see what the future holds after tray #10 is done.

So now that I've figured it all out, I think this is a great product. I've tried a few other whitening systems and this one is the easiest for me; I am an instant gratification type person and these strips are all ready to go right out of the package, and they stay on. I would have given five stars had it not been for the scanty directions. It would have been very nice to know what NOT to do, something letting the (clueless) user know that the more they manipulate the tray, the more likely the peroxide solution will be displaced into their mouth, resulting in irritation.

Oh, and as for the super sticky gel that stays on your teeth after the trays are removed, I found that a few strong swishes with water and a decent teeth brushing takes it off pretty well.

I had the heavy duty whitening done at my dentist's office. Now I use the Treswhite individual trays for retouching only. The dentist charges $15.00 for each tray after initial treatment. This is a much better deal. 10 trays at $5.00 each! Retouching maybe every six months after cleaning (3 nights/3 trays). Excellent deal.

I love this whitener.Its easy to use, the strips stay in place very well, they do not move around like the whitestrips and they are not so messy.I didnt have a problem with the gel comming out and the flavor of them is much better then the whitestrips.I didnt feel any burning or any weird feelings from these like I have with other whitening products.It is easy to talk with these in your mouth and you dont constantly have to adjust them which is very nice. They also whiten very quickly, I have only been wearing them for 2 days and have already noticed a change.

I really liked this whitening system, and it is one of the best ones I used. As for the first review, they obviously did not follow the directions, and just pressed gently.The peach and melon both taste very good, and adhered to my teeth better than any other product I've used.While Crest Whitestrips are stronger, they have less gel and move around too much, so I saw much greater and faster improvement with these.I had no pain from the gel, but I understand that each mouth is different, as I can't handle Crest Whitestrips because those do sting me.As for the gel, it does leave a thick residue, but will come off easily with a wet papertowel or toothbrush. I would reccomend this to most anyone.
